The Embassy of Afghanistan has sent out a call for participation in a major conference in Kabul. The letter reads:

"The government of Afghanistan will convene a major conference on urban development to be held in the capital city of Kabul on September 21 -25, 2002. The conference on rebuilding Afghanistan's cities, public utilities, infrastructure and highways will be hosted and organized by the ministry of Development of cities in conjunction with the U.S. NGO "Habitat for Humanity". The government of Afghanistan cordially extend invitation to all accredited U.S. construction, architecture and engineering companies, to participate in a frank and informative explanation of contracting procedures, concepts for re-development and related issues on how to best conduct the reconstruction of cities in Afghanistan."
